EDMOND, Ok. — With its backs against the wall and its season on the line, Griffon Softball scrounged up a memorable Saturday at the MIAA Softball Championships where the Griffs eliminated two teams including the No. 5 team in the nation. However, No. 23-nationally ranked and No. 1 seed Washburn sent the Griffons home once and for all with an 8-1 final in the last game on the backend of the bracket.
Missouri Western ends its 2022 run 30-22 and as the No. 4 seed in the tourney. The Griffons eliminated No. 2 seed UCO and No. 7 Nebraska-Kearney before falling to No. 1 Washburn for the second time in as many days.
