QUINCY, Il – Still in its fledgling form, Griffon Lacrosse set a new season record for wins with Sunday afternoon's 14-11 win over Quincy at QU Stadium.
Three-straight goals in the first five minutes by

Tamrin Swann and
Morgan Nicholson were the difference makers in Missouri Western's (8-9, 2-5 GLVC) season finale. After building a 7-2 lead in the first and a 12-6 lead at halftime, Quincy (6-10, 1-6 GLVC) went on a 5-2 run to tighten things up. Goalkeeper
Kari Ham got the nod for her second start of the season, securing a new career-high of 11 saves to keep the Hawks at bay.
Although MWSU was shutout in the fourth quarter, they scored a season-high seven goals in the first quarter – two of which came from
Sam Pruitt. Two more goals by Pruitt in the second quarter gave her four on the day, which means the freshman finalizes her first year at MWSU with a team-high of 29 goals.
Madison Brady scored her lone goal at the 2:11 mark of the second to snag her 27th goal of 2022, good for second on the team.
Nicholson notched goals at the 10:32 point of the first and with 5:22 left in the third for her 20th and 21st goal, putting her in third place on the team.
Amani Robinson also scored two goals with both coming in the second quarter with 11:37 and 9:10 left before halftime.
Caetryn Gilreath rounds out the Griffons' shooting attack with two goals scored in the span of one minute and two seconds during the first.
