No. 5 Bronchos Beat Griffon Tennis

ST. JOSEPH, Mo — It was a rough Saturday for Griffon Tennis at Noyes Tennis Courts, as the No. 5 Bronchos took the match 7-0.

Central Oklahoma (11-1, 4-0 MIAA) claimed the doubles point in sweeping fashion to set the tone. Isabella MacGibbon and Anya Chavez were beaten by the No. 2 doubles team of Christine Canete and Mae Canete.

Esther Güemes and Claudia Iglesias took one match in No. 2 singles but still lost 6-1 to Tizia Brocks and Adel Abidullina. Anaís Peralta Criado and Ariella Curci lost 5-2 against the No. 32 doubles team in the nation of Nikki Boyar and Blythe Buntrock.

MacGibbon had a close one with No. 68 Grace Chadick, losing 6-4 in the first set and 7-5 in the second. 

Peralta battled 6-1 in her first set and 6-2 in the second, succumbing to No. 21 Adel Abidullina. Iglesias had a rough go around with Tizia Brocks with a 6-2 first and a 6-3 second. Christine Canete gave Güemes her first loss of the season with a 6-2 final.
