ELKINS, Wv. — Instead of breaking out the presents for her birthday, Mikaela Ness broke Davis and Elkin's spirits for Griffon Lacrosse's fifth win in a row.
Multiple goals by four players put Missouri Western over the top of Davis and Elkins 18-5 — five of which coming from Ness. The freshman's career night is a season-high in individual goals scored for MWSU. This win wraps up the Griffons' successful three-game spring break trip to the East Coast, where they outscored all of their opponents 39-17.
After a 2-2 tie to finish the first quarter, the Griffons shifted into sixth gear to score six goals in the second. Ness' five goals highlighted MWSU's seven scores in the third. Other major contributors were Morgan Nicholson and Tamrin Swann with three goals each.
