Griffon Tennis Back on Track with Sweep of Henderson State

ARKADELPHIA, Ar. —This weekend's road trip hit a short snag, but Griffon Tennis bounced back with a 7-0 sweep of Henderson State for their seventh win of the season.

Missouri Western (7-2) mowed through Henderson's (1-5) singles competition, going undefeated with three-set victories by Anya Chavez and Esther Güemes in No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Chavez and Isabella MacGibbon ran into the No. 20th-nationally ranked doubles team of Mulan Kamoe and Georjemah Row and lost 6-4. That was the only Griffon loss of the day out of all nine matches, pushing Chavez and MacGibbon to 4-4 as a team this season.

Güemes' win moves her to 8-0 this season. Nicole Donnelly also won in No. 6 singles, giving her a perfect 3-0 record in 2022.
