HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — Griffon Baseball ran into a buzzsaw to kick off the 2022 season, losing 12-0 while being no-hit by Southern Arkansas University in the Dugan Invitational.
Muleriders pitcher Jeremy Adorno pitched all seven innings and nearly painted a perfect game, striking out seven and walking one. Missouri Western's lone base runner Noah Wenger drew a walk in the bottom of the first inning. Meanwhile, the game began with the first two Muleriders reaching the basepaths, eventually scoring on a three-run homer by Will Richardson.
Jared Slater took the loss today, pitching 2 ⅔ innings while striking out two. Brian Tan and Easton Unruh both pitched in relief with Unruh striking out four Southern Arkansas batters. No errors were made by either team.
