#21 Griffon Women Fall 71-57 at Southern

Turnovers doom Griffs in second road loss of season

Box Score JOPLIN, Mo. -  The 21st-ranked Missouri Western women's basketball team suffered just its second road loss of the 2021-22 season, falling 71-57 at Missouri Southern Thursday Night. 

The Griffons committed 26 turnovers in the loss to Southern's 9.  

Corbyn Cunningham led MWSU with 16 points and 13 rebounds.  Lions freshman Lacy Stokes led all scorers with 24 points and 6 assists, playing all 40 minutes of MSSU's victory.  

Western falls to 18-4 on the season and 12-4 in The MIAA.  Southern improves to 13-3 in the league, continuing a conference log-jam that sees the top five teams separated by 2 games.
