TOPEKA, Ks. — Despite setting the tone with a 25-18 first-set victory over No. 12 Washburn, Griffon Volleyball fell in four sets on Friday night at Lee Arena.
SET 1
MWSU 25, WASHBURN 18
Despite the only run of the set occurring in 3-0 fashion courtesy of MWSU (5-12, 2-8) MIAA) early on, the Griffons kept the Ichabods at arm's length for the 25-18 win.
Danielle Moje led the Griffons in set one in kills, ending the game with her fourth successful attack of the night to the point.
SET 2
WASHBURN 25, MWSU 22

The Ichabods using runs of 7-0 early and 6-0 late to control the third set. The match leaned in MWSU's favor early at 3-2 before Washburn ran away.
SET 4
WASHBURN 25, MWSU 15
The Griffons built a 14-12 lead thanks to four more kills by Moje, but the Ichabods rattled off six straight to gain a leader they never lost. Washburn ended the night with a match-high run of 8-0.
