NEWTON, Kan. – The Missouri Western women's golf team is tied for eighth place after the first round of the Newman Spring Invitational at Sand Creek Station Golf Course. MWSU shot a 335 on Tuesday and they're tied with Northwest Missouri State.
Northeastern State leads the tournament after day one as they shot a 313 and they're followed by Central Missouri (317), Southwestern Oklahoma State (318), Central Oklahoma (322) and Rogers State (324).
Allycia Gan had the low round of the day for the Griffons as she shot a 9-over par 81 and is tied for 17
th individually.
Anna Bech is just one stroke back of Gan as she's tied for 23
rd after shooting an 82.
Julie Hofmanova (85) is tied for 38
th,
Caitlin Brinkley (87) is tied for 46
th and
Ady Crough (92) is in 65
th.
The second and final round of the Newman Spring Invite take place at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday with a shotgun start from Sand Creek Station.
