EDMOND, Okla. -- After an unexpected travel complication pushed back the start of Missouri Western's volleyball match at Central Oklahoma, the Griffons weren't able to find a solid rhythm on offense, falling 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-17) to the Bronchos.
Ali Tauchen,
Karly Tharp and
Allie Kerns each recorded six kills on the night as MWSU posted a .145 hitting percentage, but UCO combined for 14 block assists and 41 kills.
After closing the first set with four consecutive attack errors, Missouri Western tried to shake out of the doldrums in the second. Despite five kills from Tauchen and a hitting percentage better that double that of the first set, the Griffons weren't able to close the gap with UCO.
Missouri Western (11-5, 3-4 MIAA) continues its road swing with a Saturday match at Newman University. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
