MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Missouri Western Baseball got on the board with two runs, but the Griffons (1-5) fell twice to Southern Arkansas (7-0) on Saturday. SAU's Zach Smith held the Griffs to four hits and struck out seven batters in eight innings. Smith walked away with the win in game one 1-0.
In game two, the Muleriders topped the Griffons 7-2. SAU's Parker Abrego pitched the entire game, striking out six batters and allowing six hits. Through four innings, Southern Arkansas scored six runs. A solo home run by
Zach Hanlan managed to wake up the bats for the Griffons tallying four more hits and another run following the bomb to left field.
