TOPEKA, Kan. – It wasn't an impressive offensive performance, but Griffon Women's Basketball (12-2, 4-1) extended its win streak to seven games by holding Washburn to its lowest point total of the season in a 58-57 victory at Lee Arena.
Â
The win gave the Griffons their best start since the 2015-16 season when Missouri Western won its first 18 games on the way to a 27-4 overall record and an MIAA regular season title. It was a one-point difference in the second half, but MWSU held Washburn to 20 first half points and led by 10 at the break. Washburn had a 6-0 run in the third quarter and cut the Griffon lead to four, but that was as close as the Ichabods could get.
