ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Griffon Baseball (2-4) took out some frustration, Saturday, on Arkansas-Fort Smith (4-2). The Griffons scored 11 runs on 12 hits in a run-rule shortened, 11-1 victory for Missouri Western in the Henderson State Invitational.
 
NOTABLES

• MWSU jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one inning on RBI singles from Wyatt Meyer and Dusty Stroup
• Stroup drove Meyer in with a double in the third that gave MWSU a 4-0 lead
• A five-run fifth got started with a two-RBI double by Andrew Curry
• The Griffons capped the fifth by scoring two runs on an error
• MWSU had a season-high 12 hits in the game, one more than the team totaled through two games on Friday at the HSU Invite
• The Griffons didn't need may extra base hits for all the runs, just getting the doubles from Stroup and one from Curry for the team's only extra base hits in the game
• Five different Griffs were hit by a pitch in the game; Zach Pych got hit twice

 
LEADERS

• Anthony Castaneda (1-0) got the win, giving up just one earned run on six hits. He struck out five and walked two over all seven innings
• Meyer went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI
• Stroup was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a runs scored
• Curry drove in two runs
• Conrad McMahon went 2-for-3 with an RBI
