ST. JOSEPH – Missouri Western Women's Basketball will open MIAA play this week as the Griffons (5-1, 0-0 MIAA) will head to Warrensburg on Thursday to take on Central Missouri (4-3, 0-0 MIAA) and Jefferson City on Saturday to play Lincoln University (1-6, 0-0 MIAA).
The Griffons hope to continue their five-game win streak into conference play as they play true road games for the first time this season.
PREVIEWING THE GRIFFONS

- Wilson additionally ranks second in the conference in rebounds per game, pulling an average of 10.7 off the glass per game.
- Corbyn Cunningham ranks fourth in the conference in rebounds per game with a rate of 9.2 boards per contest.
- Kylee Williams ranks in the top-10 of the MIAA in average three-point field goals per game averaging 2.2 through six games.
- Katrina Roenfeldt also ranks in the top-15 of the same stat category averaging two per contest for the Griffons.
SCOUTING CENTRAL MISSOURI
- The Jennies started their season with heavy non-conference competition. Two of their three losses come from two nationally ranked opponents: a 58-56 loss to No. 18 Minnesota State-Moorhead and a 57-54 loss at No. 1 Drury.
- Central Missouri ranks second in the MIAA in free-throw percentage averaging 78% from the line.
- The Jennies also rank third in the conference in blocked shots per game, averaging 3.86 per contest.
- Morgan Fleming ranks in the top-10 of the league in scoring, averaging 15.4 points per game through seven games.
- Nija Collier ranks second in the MIAA in blocked shots per game, averaging 1.9 per contest for the Jennies.
SCOUTING LINCOLN
- The Blue Tigers lead the league in rebounding offense, averaging 43.1 per contest.
- Lincoln also ranks seventh in the conference in steals, averaging 9.29 per contest through seven games.
- Kaloni Pryear ranks third in the MIAA in scoring averaging 18.2 points per game for the Blue Tigers.
- Vivian Chigbu ranks third in the conference in rebounding, averaging 10.3 boards per contest.
- Chigbu and Natasha Dolinsky rank in the top-15 of the MIAA in steals per contest as they both average two per game.
