SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Griffon Women's Basketball (8-2) scored 20 points in overtime to overcome a near collapse at Illinois Springfield (6-3), Wednesday night, 84-77.

Missouri Western never trailed in regulation and led by as many as 17, but UIS outscored the Griffs 17-6 in the fourth quarter to force the overtime. The Prairie Stars took their first lead of the game with 3:48 left in OT and led by two with 2:13 left, but then
Katrina Roenfeldt,
Mychaell Gray and
Chris Wilson took over. The trio scored all 20 of the Griffons' overtime points; eight for Wilson and six each from Gray and Roefeldt. They also had all five of MWSU's overtime rebounds and three of their six assists in the extra period.

Tehya Fortune knocked down a 3-pointer for UIS with 34 seconds left to tie the game at 64. A turnover and a timeout by each team after that led to overtime. MWSU led by 10 to open the fourth quarter, but didn't score in the quarter until
Anastacia Johnson's jumper with 4:51 left. A minute later,
Corbyn Cunningham fouled out with 23 points and six rebounds over 23 minutes.

- Cunningham (23), Wilson (22) and Roenfeldt (20) paced the Griffons, scoring all but 19 of the team's points.
