ST. JOSEPH – Missouri Western Men's Basketball hits the road for two more non-conference matchups, as the Griffons (4-6, 1-1 MIAA) travel to University of Illinois-Springfield (6-2, 0-1 GLVC) on Wednesday and head to Kansas City on Saturday to take on Rockhurst (4-3, 1-0 GLVC).
 
UIS and Rockhurst are the second and third GLVC opponents the Griffons have played so far this season. The most recent GLVC team Missouri Western has played was Missouri S&T, which concluded in a 66-64 overtime victory for the Griffons. MWSU is also looking to bounce back from an 89-66 MIAA loss at Lincoln on  December 7.
 
PREVIEWING THE GRIFFONS
 
	- Missouri Western leads the MIAA in blocked shots per game, averaging 4.6 rejections per game.
- The Griffons also rank in the top-five of the MIAA in three-point field goals made, averaging 9.2 shots per contest.
- MWSU has also outrebounded their last two opponents by a total of 72-59.
- Even though Tyrell Carroll has been out the last two contests, he still ranks third in the MIAA in scoring, averaging 19.6 points per game for the Griffons. Carroll also ranks third in field goal percentage in the league averaging 53% per game.
- TC still ranks second in the MIAA in assists, averaging 6.1 per game. He also leads the conference in steals per contest, averaging 2.8 takeaways per game.
- Tyus Millhollin ranks in the top-five of the conference in average three-point field goal percentage averaging 33% from beyond the arc.
- Alex John ranks in the top-five of the conference in average blocked shots per game, averaging 1.4 rejections.
 
SCOUTING ILLINOIS-SPRINGFIELD
 
	- The Prairie Stars rank fourth in the GLVC in scoring offense, averaging 85.2 points per contest.
- UIS also ranks fourth in their conference in offensive rebounding, averaging 39.4 a game.
- Chase Robinson ranks sixth in the GLVC in scoring, averaging 18 points per contest for the Prairie Stars.
- Daniel Soetan ranks seventh in the GLVC in steals per game averaging 1.83 through eight contests.
- Keymonta Johnson is ranked sixth in the conference in rebounding averaging 7.7 boards per game.
 
SCOUTING ROCKHURST
 
	- The Hawks rank third in the GLVC in defensive rebounds averaging 29.43 boards per game.
- Rockhurst also ranks seventh in their league in three-point field goal percentage, averaging 38% from beyond the arc.
- Quinton Curry ranks second in the conference in rebounding, averaging 8.7 per game. Curry also leads the GLVC in defensive rebounds, pulling an average of 6.86 off the glass for the Hawks.
- Nick Volz ranks second in the conference in offensive rebounding, averaging 3.43 per contest.
- Curtis Lewis ranks fifth in the GLVC in steals per game averaging 2 per contest.
