ST. JOSEPH – Griffon Women's Basketball will stay in St. Joseph for the back half of Thanksgiving break this week as Missouri Western will host the 2019 Fairfield Inn Classic. The Griffons (3-1, 0-0 MIAA) will host McKendree (4-0, 0-0 GLVC) on Nov. 29 at 7:30 p.m. and Florida Southern (4-2, 2-0 SSC) on Nov. 30 at 3:30 p.m. The Classic will also feature the Northwest Missouri Bearcats taking on Florida Southern Nov. 29 at 5:30 p.m. and McKendree Nov. 30 at 1:30 p.m.
 
The Griffons are looking to continue their three-game win streak this week. Their most recent win came from a 100-51 victory over College of Saint Mary on Nov. 17.
 
PREVIEWING THE GRIFFONS
 

• Missouri Western leads the MIAA in team field goal percentage shooting 51% through four games. The Griffs are also averaging 42% from three-point range.
• Chris Wilson ranks second in the conference in scoring, averaging 20.5 points per game. Wilson went nine-for-nine offensively in the Griffons' win over College of Saint Mary.
• Chris Wilson also ranks third in the league in rebounding, averaging 11.3 per contest.
• Corbyn Cunningham ranks in the top-10 of the MIAA in field goal percentage, having an average of 55% through four games.
• Katrina Roenfeldt ranks in the top-five of the conference in three-point field goal percentage, averaging 46% from beyond the arc. She also averages 2.5 three-pointers per contest.
• Roenfeldt and Wilson rank in the top-10 in steals per game for the MIAA, averaging a combined 4.8 per contest.

 
SCOUTING MCKENDREE
 

• Through four games, the Bearcats average 67 points per game with a 40% field goal percentage.
• McKendree is undefeated heading into the contest with Missouri Western with their most recent win coming from a 84-77 victory over Tiffin University at the GLVC/GLIAC Crossover Challenge.
• Jordan Heberg leads McKendree in scoring, averaging 16.5 points per contest. Heberg's average also ranks as seventh best in the GLVC.
• Madison Hart ranks second in the GLVC in rebounds with 11.8 per game. Hart also leads the conference in defensive rebounds per contest with an average of 9.75.
• Callie Pohlman ranks fourth in the GLVC in assists, averaging 4.5 per contest.

 
SCOUTING FLORIDA SOUTHERN
 

• The Mocs rank in the top-10 in the Sunshine State Conference in field goal percentage, averaging 40% from the field through six contests.
• Florida Southern is also coming to St. Joseph on a two-game win streak, with their most recent win coming from a 59-54 victory over Barry University.
• Florida Southern ranks sixth in the SSC in three-point field goals made, averaging 6.8 per game.
• Julia Jenike ranks in the top-20 of the conference in scoring with an average of 13 points per contest.
• Elsa Landberg is ranked eighth in the SSC in assists per game with 3.5 per contest.
