Volleyball Sweeps Pittsburg State

Griffs dominate in return to the Fieldhouse

ST. JOSEPH – Griffon Volleyball (8-5, 2-3) dominated Pittsburg State (8-7, 2-3) in its return to the MWSU Fieldhouse, Thursday night. Pittsburg State didn't score more than 17 in any set and only led one time.
 
NOTABLES
  • It was the team's first three-set match since a Sept. 14 sweep of Colorado Mesa.
  • The Griffons didn't trail until the first serve of the final set. Pittsburg State took a 1-0 lead to begin that set and never led again.
  • MWSU tallied 44 kills and allowed just 28 Pitt State kills
  • Missouri Western hit at least .237 in every set and .270 in the match, turning in a .278 hitting percentage in the first and .293 in the third.
  • Ali Tauchen and Sam Duncan each had 11 kills and both hit .333. Tauchen added six blocks.
  • Lauren Murphy led the team with 33 assists.
  • Tiana Butler had a team-high 17 digs while Jessica Sachen added 11.

  • The Griffons play consecutive home matches for the first time this season, Saturday, when Missouri Southern comes to the MWSU Fieldhosue.
