ST. JOSEPH - Griffon baseball (5-8) takes a break from conference and regional play this weekend when the team travels to No. 16 Southern Indiana (4-2) for three games.
Missouri Western just wrapped up a three-game, MIAA-opening series at now No. 17 Central Missouri. The Mules took all three games of the series to drop the Griffs to 5-8 on the season and 0-3 in conference play. Just six games into its season, Southern Indiana is 4-2 with one of the losses coming at No. 2 Delta State.

- Buzz Verduzco (538-398) needs three more wins to pass Doug Minnis as Griffon baseball's all-time wins leader. Verduzco and Minnis are the only two head coaches in the program's history.
