Griffon Women Hang On Against Newman

Atkins makes return; Roenfeldt scores career-high

ST. JOSEPH – Missouri Western Women's Basketball (5-5) earned a non-conference win against Newman (7-5) on Wednesday. The win puts the Griffons at .500 heading into the holiday break.

  • The Griffons outscored Newman 20-9 in the second quarter to take the lead into halftime
  • Missouri Western and Newman combined to shoot 23 percent from the field in the period
