THIS WEEK IN GRIFFON WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Tuesday, Nov. 13, 5:30 p.m. at
Truman (2-0)
Saturday, Nov. 17, 1:30 p.m. vs.
Regis (1-1)
ST. JOSEPH – Missouri Western (2-0) will play a pair of nonconference games against two respectable programs this week in Truman and Regis. The Griffons are coming off a 2-0 start at the MIAA/NSIC Crossover last week where they beat both Upper Iowa and Southwest Minnesota State.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
- Early season success may be something Coach Rob Edmisson is getting used to. Edmisson has a 35-6 record and .854 winning percentage in November over his seven years coaching at Missouri Western.
- Depth will be a strength for the Griffons in the early season, as 10 players on the team average double-digit minutes.
- Katrina Roenfeldt should continue to establish herself as a focal point in the offense. Roenfeldt is averaging 17 points per game and has attempted 28 shots over two games.
- Free throw shooting has not been a strength for the Griffons over the first two games. The team is shooting just 58 percent from the line.
- Although Tuesday's game will be a nonconference matchup, Truman and Missouri Western have a longstanding series from Truman's days in the MIAA. The Griffons have traditionally bested the Bulldogs and lead the all-time series 50-18.
SCOUTING THE GRIFFONS
