ST. JOSEPH – Griffon volleyball begins the 2017 season with four games in two days at the Ferris State Invitational. Missouri Western returns two players that were All-MIAA in 2016, more about the team can be found in the season preview "Griffon Volleyball Blends Youth With Experience in 2017"

In 2015, MWSU opened the season at the Ferris State Invitational as well. The Griffons went 2-2 in their previous appearance in Big Rapids, Michigan. The only common opponent for the last trip and this trip will be the host team, Ferris State.
