RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – After losing three of its first four games, the Missouri Western baseball team bounced back with a doubleheader sweep at Arkansas Tech on Saturday.
 
The Griffons went on the offensive in game one, winning 12-5, and got a complete game (7 innings), two-hit shutout from 
Richard Peoples in game two.
 
NOTABLES
	- Missouri Western pounded out 28 hits on the day while allowing just 11
- The Griffons hit .378 in the doubleheader with Griffon pitchers limiting Wonder Boy hitters to just a .190 average
- Missouri Western had nine extra base hits in the doubleheader
- Seven Griffons had three hits or more on the day
- Missouri Western's pitching staff struck out 13 Wonder Boy batters and walked five
- Griffon pitchers had a 2.81 ERA on the day, allowing just five earned runs
TOP PERFORMERS
	- Jeremy Alvarado batted .600 on the day, with three hits in five at bats, scoring two runs and driving in one
- Dusty Stroup hit his first two career home runs, one in each game, and went 4-for-8 at the plate with three RBIs and three runs scored
- Logan Marston also drove in three while going 3-for-6 at the plate
- Connor Simpson was 3-for-5 in his one game with a double and an RBI
- Ryan Smith drove in three while going 4-fo-10
- Nick Gawley was 4-for-9 with a double and three RBIs
- Peoples allowed just two hits, pitching all seven innings in game two, with five strikeouts and two walks
- Nate Hunter got the win in game one, going five innings and giving up three hits and one run while striking out four and walking two
