Final Box Score
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Griffon basketball fell 88-74 to Division I Arkansas in an exhibition game at Bud Walton Arena.
NO STAGE FRIGHT
Missouri Western didn't let the big stage of Division I basketball rattle them. Joe Hamilton nailed an early three-pointer to give the Griffons their first lead of the game. MWSU wouldn't trail again in the first half until the 7:42 mark. Three-pointers by
Cole Clearman and Alex Martin allowed the Griffons to trim the lead to one point two different times in the second half. However, that is the closest the margin would get in the second half. In total, Missouri Western led for eight minutes and fifty four seconds with their largest lead being eight points with 12:49 to go in the first half.
DIALING IT FROM DOWNTOWN
MWSU was hot from the three-point line as it made 14 from beyond the arc. The 14 made three-pointers are the most in a game since Feb. 13, 2016. The Griffons finished 51.9 percent from the three-point line, 15.5 percent better than Arkansas.
