ST. JOSEPH – Griffon volleyball (18-9) will look to extend its longest winning streak since the 2015 season. MWSU has seven consecutive matches, just three shy of the 2015 streak.
 
Missouri Western is second in the MIAA standings and clinched a top four spot in the MIAA tournament with a win against No.16 Central Missouri on Saturday, Oct. 28. The Griffons currently claim the second spot over No. 11 Central Oklahoma with their win on Oct. 13 against the Bronchos. MWSU trails Nebraska Kearney by a game for first place in the standings. The two teams are scheduled to play on Nov. 11 in the MWSU Fieldhouse.
 
The Griffons, again, received votes in the latest AVCA Division II Coaches Poll. Missouri Western is one of 13 teams in the Central Region to be ranked or received votes. Six of the top 10 teams in the poll are also from the Central Region.
 
MISSOURI WESTERN
Missouri Western is 18-9 on the season and 12-2 in the MIAA … Lauren Murphy ranks 14th in Division II for assists (1,039) and 12^th in assists per set (11.42) … Stephanie Doak is 25^th in Division II for total kills (369) and second in the MIAA for kills per set (3.88) …Kayla Ruff ranks 23^rd in Division II for total digs (1,794) and fourth in the conference for digs per set (5.23).
 
As a team, the Griffons are 21st in Division II for team assists (1,248), 24th for kills (1,324) and 23^rd for digs (1,794).
 
MWSU leads the MIAA in digs per set (18.14) … fourth in the league for hitting percentage (.214) … fifth for service aces (100), assists per set (12.61) and kills per set (13.37) … Missouri Western beat Missouri Southern 3-1 on Sept. 29 and swept Southwest Baptist on Sept. 30.
 
MISSOURI SOUTHERN
The Lions are 11-16 on the season and 4-10 in the MIAA … MWSU won the first match of the season against MSSU, 3-1, in St. Joseph, Missouri… Missouri Southern is first in the MIAA for block assists (377) … fourth in the MIAA for blocks per set (2.14) and total blocks (213.5)… MWSU leads the all-time series 68-27-2.
 
SOUTHWEST BAPTIST
The Bearcats are 2-26 on the season and 1-13 in the MIAA … MWSU swept SBU in the first meeting of the season … SBU ranks tenth in the MIAA for solo blocks (31) … MWSU leads the all-time series 47-10
