ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Missouri Western Baseball earned its third straight victory against Lincoln , winning 13-3 on Saturday evening.
Missouri Western scored four runs in the bottom of the second inning after the Lincoln defense committed two errors in the inning. The Griffons also drew two walks and was hit by a pitch in the inning.
Ozzie Rodriguez,
Alex Heuring and
Orencio Fisher all tallied RBIs in the inning.
The Blue Tigers managed to get a run in the top of the third inning, as Mike Millon picked up an RBI when Dillon Walker scored on a single to left center.
The Griffons scored two runs in the fifth inning and four runs in the sixth inning, increasing the Griffon lead to 10-1 heading into the seventh inning.
MWSU finished the game with three runs in the seventh inning, ending the game on a
Nick Gawley double to left center.
Fisher,
Nick Gawley,
David Glaude, and
Jeremy Alvarado all picked up multiple hits in the game. Fisher contributed two runs and two RBIs. Glaude recorded a team-high three RBIs.
Evan Jones earned his sixth victory of the season, pitching three innings and allowing just one run.
Alex Clavet recorded two innings of work and tallied two strikeouts.
The Griffons finish the regular season with a 34-16 overall record and will compete in the MIAA Championships on Wednesday, May 11-14.
