MWSU has won five of their last six games and Central Missouri has won five straight games.THE GRIFFONSMissouri Western defeated Northwest Missouri St. 73-65 on Saturday to complete the sweep of their rival. They have won five of their last six games to propel themselves up the MIAA standings. The Griffons have moved into the seventh spot in the MIAA allowing, them to host a first round MIAA tournament matchup.
The Griffons have been dominate on the offensive side of the ball scoring an average of 72.2 points per game and leading the MIAA in shooting percentage at 45%. In MWSU's last five wins, they have held their opponents to an average of just 52 points per game. Missouri Western continues to outrebound the opposition by a margin of +5.5, averaging 37.5 rebounds per game. The Griffons average 10.9 assists and tally 5.5 steals per game as well.
The Griffons have seven different players averaging at least five points per game.
LaQuinta Jefferson and
Sarafina Handy are the only two averaging double-figures, scoring 20.8 and 13.0 points per game respectively.
Miliakere Koyamainavure leads the team in rebounds, averaging 5.5 per game.

CENTRAL MISSOURICentral Missouri comes into the match-up with a five-game winning streak and recently beat Southwest Baptist on Saturday by a score of 72-55. The Jennies currently rank fifth in the MIAA standings, holding a conference record of 11-6.
The Jennies average 68.4 points per game and have a +5.8 scoring margin on the season. UCM converts on 41 percent of their field goals and makes 75 percent of their free throws. In the last five wins, Central Missouri has been outrebounding opponents and have grabbed at least 38 rebounds in each game.
Central Missouri is balanced offensively with four players averaging at least 12 points per game. They have had at least six different players lead them in scoring throughout the year. The all-session pass, which includes all 14 games in Kansas City, is $50, with single session tickets available for $20 for adults and youth/students $5. Men's quarterfinal action begins on Thursday 3/5 with women's quarterfinal action taking place on Friday 3/6.The semifinals and championship games take place over the weekend. Tickets are cheaper if purchased from our office in advance and we have an allotment we must sell. Brackets and game times will be determined at the end of the regular season.
