The Griffons lead the MIAA, averaging 91 points per game and are giving up 70.5 points per contest. The team also leads the MIAA with a 52.3 field goal percentage and rank ninth nationally in that category. Missouri Western's 19 assists per game also lead the MIAA along with the 84.6 free throw shooting percentage.
Miliakere Koyamainavure is leading the MIAA with six assists per game and
Chelsea Dewey is averaging 3.5.
Julia Torres-Alves is averaging 20.5 points per game and
Sarafina Handy 20 per game. Neither of those two missed a free throw last weekend and Torres-Alves is shooting 64 percent from the field. Torres-Alves also leads the team with 8.5 rebounds per game with Koyamainavure averaging 7.5.
MINNESOTA STATEMinnesota State comes into the Fieldhouse 0-1 after a 70-58 loss Wednesday night at Missouri Southern. The Mavericks are coming off a NCAA Tournament berth and finished 21-10 last season. The team was picked fourth in the NSIC South Division and sixth overall in the conference. Sammie Delzotto was named the team's NSIC Player to Watch. She started all 21 games last year, averaging 12.1 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.
Minnesota State head coach Emille Thiesse is beginning her fourth season and is 70-22 in her previous three years, including two NCAA Tournament appearances.
