ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Griffon Volleyball hosts No. 14 Central Missouri in its home opener Tuesday night in the MWSU Fieldshouse. 

The Griffons are 6-2 after a 3-1 weekend at the NSIC Challenge in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Amanda Boender, Jordan Chohon and Jessie Thorup were all named to the all-tournament team. That makes five of Missouri Western's six starters who have been named to an all-tournament team this season. Erica Rottinghaus and Sarah Faubel were named to the Rockhurst Classic All-Tournament team. 

MWSU spread its offense around over the weekend in Sioux Falls. Thorup had a strong weekend that propelled her into the team lead with 111 kills. Thorup has excelled in her new role, hitting .321 on the season. Boender racked up some offense over the weekend as well. She is now hitting an impressive, .411 on the year and her 75 kills rank her third on the squad. 

A vast majority of those kills have come from Chohon who leads the team, far and away, with 364 assists. Chohon has a .654 set percentage and is averaging 11.74 per set. 

Sarah Faubel comes into the Central Missouri match just 74 digs shy of tying the MWSU career record (1,565). The senior is pacing the team with 119 digs and 3.84 per set. MWSU has enjoyed success at the net this season. Boender leads the team with 29 total blocks, followed by Lindsey Partridge's 26. As a team, the Griffons are outblocking their opponents 61 to 44 and holding them to a .182 hitting percentage. 

The Griffons will be looking for just their fourth win all-time agains the Jennies and first since Sept. 16, 2005. 

Scouting the Jennies
Central Missouri comes in ranked No. 14 in the country after being swept four times at the Colorado Premier Challenge over the weekend. Central Missouri went into last weekend with a 3-1 record and ranked fifth in the nation. 

Haley Thompson, last week's National Player of the Week, leads the team with 83 kills (.302). Carly Sojka has 81 kills and is hitting .140. 
Kourtney Thompson leads the Jennies with 219 assists and a .356 set percentage. Defensively, Annie Reilly is averaging just over six digs per set and leads the team with 147 total.
